Montgomery Township’s 2012 Independence Day Celebration is set for Thursday, June 28th. The celebration will take place at Montgomery High School. As in 2011 when the fireworks were brought back to town, this yearly event will be 100% supported by private and corporate donations. Last year we had over 47 Corporate Sponsors and 33 vendors. It is estimated that over 6,000 people were in attendance in 2011. Activities will start at 6:00PM with games, food, rides, displays, and music. Naturally the evening will culminate in an awe inspiring fireworks celebration after dark, usually around 9:15PM.
The Fireworks Campaign, led by George Jarvis, Frank Drift, Matt Galvin, and Meg Helms, Kacey Dyer, Cynthia Weshnak, and Karen Zimmerman, is moving quickly to raise the needed funds. They continue to reach out to major sponsors and have also created this website for online donations (see Make Donations/Individual Sponsorship).
To assist in this fundraising, we have set up the Montgomery Fireworks Committee Trust Fund (a Section 170 organization under the IRS Code). Your generous sponsorships and donations will enable us to continue on with this patriotic tradition, which is the largest gathering in the Township each year.

Note: While there will be plenty of free parking available on the night of the Fireworks, Reserved Parking at the High School can be purchased on line before 6/22 at a cost of $15. After 6/22, Reserved Parking Passes may only be purchased in person at the Montgomery Recreation Department or the Montgomery Township Office.
Note: No alcohol is permitted on the grounds of the High School, and pets should remain at home.
